I hear a lot of people talking about the need to make changes in our world.
All you have to do is turn on the TV and we are inundated with stories of doom and gloom.
This creates fear.
I talk to a lot of people who are afraid of the future.
…what would you change?
We need to take responsibility and stop passing the buck.
I agree, we do need to make changes.
But
I think change begins with each one of us.
If I want more peace, and less hate…
If I want to provide hope and a hand up to those in need…
If I want to end hunger…
If I want to see changes in our welfare system…
Then it begins with me…in my home, in my personal life, in my community, and in my state…and then beyond.
Making changes takes risk and believing in our ability to make them.
If change begins with me, then I might have to step out of my comfort zone.
Changing my attitude about change opens my mind & heart to new possibilities.
Change is necessary if we want something more for ourselves, our loved ones and our world.
Embracing change could mean that our dreams and goals will come true.
Are you willing to take the risk?
You may not think you can reach it.
Climb anyway.
You may not think you’ll be heard.
Speak anyway.
You may not think you can change things.
Try anyway.
Maya Angelou
Can you see the beauty in change?
Love & Hugs, Lori

Beautiful post!
really a wonderful post...we do have the power to chnge...the first one...our minds...thanks for doing your part in making that happen today. smiles.
You said a mouthful, lady. Change ALWAYS begins with us.
Change is inevitable - what we can do is influence the direction that change is taking - we must be flexible to adapt to those things that are inconvenient or uncomfortable if it means that it will benefit the rest of the world. It's funny, isn't it how it's the grassroots that must take on most of the responsibility - the rich and powerful assume they do not need to make the same sacrifices as the rest of us.
Lori, I think you have already started to create a change in the little ones you care for. Each and every day, they have an opportunity to be happy or sad and know what love is because you have become an inspiration to them. The many people that visit you and are a witness to this, no of the impact of change. And you started it on your own door step. With that kind of commitment, it isn't hard to understand why your heart grows everyday. LOL my friend.
Lori- You are amazing. Everyday I struggle with being completely overwhelmed at the problems in our society. I am slowly learning how to work through them. I love that you stay so positive!!
This is a great post, wonderful way to encourage each and every one of us to look closely at what we would like changed and then to move forward in our own lives and make changes. One person at a time, one step at a time, one change at a time can be powerful when in force.
YES I CAN!!!!
I am trying to change the world around me...it actually feels like it is working (somewhat)
Great post!!!
Lori, you are inspirational.
Beautiful post and I so believe in this!!
I was never a big MJ fan but my favorite song of his was "The Man in the Mirror". Gonna make a change......I just love it.
Great post, Lori.
Lovely post! Inspiring and so very very true.
Beautiful post! Now I am wondering what about my life I need to change. That's the point of this, right?
What a gorgeous inspiration! Thank you.
xo
Beautifully said, and so so true! Change starts in very small ways, in each and every person's mind. But it spreads, just as hate and fear spread, so does love and kindness. Thanks for the reminder.
I loved this. You are so right. Change begins within ourselves.
Hear! Hear!
~Fabulous~ post
X:-)
Now, if only I could decide on which change to focus on - there are so many (eeek)!
Yes I can. Lovely postLori and thank you for all of your kind words recently :)
Be the change you wish to see in the world is one of my absolute favorites. I think everyone *every.single.one* can do something to change the world! : )
This is so true. It is so easy to place blame instead of working towards being a part of a solution. I like your thoughts!
Happy Saturday to you.
