Last days of fall fun
Since the snow we got here on Sunday did not stay(thank God) and it's both mine and my husband's day off today, we got one last chance to do yard work and play in the piles of leaves. If you notice in the pictures, my little people, are only wearing sweatshirts today, instead of their winter jackets, since it reached about 50 degree's! We've been having to wear winter stuff once again and let me tell you, I had forgotten how much longer it takes to get out the door when you have to put on all this extra stuff. My little people love being outside and playing in the leaves is an added bonus. The little kid in me comes out and I cannot resist a big pile of leaves either. It's pretty hard to resist when you hear their giggles and squeals of delight as they play and try to cover me up with leaves.
Twenty Four at Heart shared a recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies recently and so this morning we made a batch of them. I encourage you to go check out this recipe of hers and give them a try as they are delicious. I used to bake a lot when my five children were growing up but have gotten away from that since neither my husband or I are big sweet eaters. Give us a bowl of chips with salsa or guacamole and we will have it gone in minutes. I do make good guacamole, if I must say so myself.
I'm off to get more work done around here before my two little people wake up from their naps. Hope you are having a great day!

I love seeing the pictures! Happiness is there.
These kinds of days make it all worth it.
mmmm, gucamole YUM! and your little people are adorable in the leaves!!
I LOVE this post! I LOVE fall, it is my FAVORITE time of year (imagine me doing a big cheer for Fall right now!!!) I was just driving home and my neighborhood is small and quaint and the kids next door were playing on their swing and in the leaves and somehow I have rented the one house on the block without huge trees to casts large leaves all over my yard so I can crawl in them like i did as a child. I love the smell of leaves on my skin and in my hair....
I wish I were there, with you and your little ones and eating some guacamole with you! It would be so nice to meet you in person one of these days!
Yay Pumpkins!!!
ok, I am so embarrassed! "Hips Don't Lie" is my younger sister's screen name, apparently she used my computer without my knowledge. Awesome just what you always wanted, a picture perfect photo of a rock goddess on your blog!
glad to hear you had a great time in the leaves, the cookies sound delish, would like to try them out, will check out the recepie when i have time to copy it down. i'm off to work again, the time i had with my grandson in between jobs was priceless. take care. keep in touch. have a terrific thursday!!
little kids and leaves belong together...anad for the record, i don't even try to rake the leaves anymore because as soon as i start to try, i have 4 smooth fox terriers screaming around the back yard and thru the piles, making them essentially 'not' piles...what can i say, the back yard is more their's than mine, which is ok by me...
hmmm...my word veri is 'rustive', kinda like that, it's a combination of rustic and festive, which sounds like my life these days
Great pictures. I really miss the colors of fall. We have summer, summer, oh and summer here.
Sigh! Beautiful pictures. I love seeing all the leaves. We've had the hottest October since the 1800's or something like that. 9-100 day after day.
I'm glad you liked the cookies! And thank you for the link!
Great photos.
I love the fall. When I was growing up there was a MASSIVE tree in our front yard that produced enough leaves for me to build a fort.
Now I live in a new development, and my lone front yard tree barely produces enough leaves to bury my kid, and she's only three years old and skinny.
LOVE the pictures! I bet they had a blast.
I love the pictures!! I can't believe fall is almost gone!!!
